I'm Moving to Costa Rica!
Hi! My name is Crystal Townley and well, it's official! I am moving to Costa Rica. Why you ask? It has been a dream of mine to live and work in another country ever since I can remember. I have visited Costa Rica twice before and fell in love with the country immediately. After the first visit I knew I had to move to this beautiful paradise. Not to mention with COVID and United States political drama, it seems as if there is no time like the present.
I'll also be selling real estate in Costa Rica, which is seriously the most exciting thing EVER. What is better than selling someone their dream home in LITERAL paradise? So here it goes. Blog post numero uno (practicing my Spanish). I am very happy you are here.
A bit about me.
I am a 30 something female with a recent adopted rescue dog named Copper and a boyfriend named Chris. Parents Tim and Patty and brothers Tim and Tyler. I am the middle child and only daughter, which naturally means I am the favorite... Kidding.
I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado most of my life, moving there when I was in second grade from Northern California. I was a super active child and was often called a "bull in a china shop" because I was always going a million miles an hour and was not afraid to take risks. I played a ton of sports growing up, but soccer was the sport that seemed to stick. I ended up receiving a Division 1 Soccer scholarship to Drake University, which took me to Des Moines, Iowa. I played all four years and can truly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. I made life long friends and grew up A TON. I think all students athletes leave college prepared with skills and experiences that we never thought would translate into adulthood. The constant facing of adversity, work ethic, time management, and organization to name a few. We essentially had a full time "job" while going to school. However, we definitely made up for it in the off season. Wink, wink.
After graduating from Drake University with a degree in Law, Politics, and Society I worked a few different jobs. I was an auto claims adjuster, managed a coffee shop, a 911 dispatcher, Deputy Sheriff and eventually found my passion for real estate working as a Real Estate Agent. All brought me different life skills that I am so grateful for.
I love food, finance, real estate, animals, exercise, nature, baking, surprises and new experiences. I'll try anything once and I live for adventure. I've always been super independent and am not afraid of change.
My intention of this blog is to help those who may also want to take the plunge and move to a foreign country. More specifically, Costa Rica. Moving to another country can seem daunting, but it was really quite easy. I will walk you through every step of my journey and please feel free to reach out with any questions along the way.
Read along to hear my story.... Cheers!
